Since no one seems to have cracked this forum open, let's get it started!

Who here uses or has used Java in the past? What do you like or dislike about it? Have you used it since Jaa 5 was released?

Currently I am taking a course called Object Oriented Programming and we are studying OOP methods in Java. I'm enjoying it so far and I have my first exam in just under 13 hours. (wish me luck laugh.gif )

I used Java before Java 5 and now after. I must say, a lot has changed, and I am actually liking Java a lot more than I remember in high school. I remember some really silly task we had to do to make a scanner for string input and I will never forget writing that darn getConsoleString().

I am unsure at this moment which I like better, C++ or Java.

So, come on people, let's hear your stories! smile.gif

I had to learn and use Java back in university, but haven't really made any effort to continue learning or following its progress since then. Best of luck with the exam! smile.gif

I don't. I would post up slides, but I'm pretty sure that would be breaking the law. tongue.gif What I can do, however, is search online for what I think is a nice resource for a beginner and send you the link. How does that sound?

I should be doing the searching! But if you have a really good link you'd like to share that would be great thank you smile.gif
