Board upgraded to IPB 3.0.5

We have upgraded WebDevelopForum.com to the latest IPB version. While upgrading, I enabled the IPB spam monitoring service. Known spammers get banned immediately, possible spammers get flagged for review before being able to post. Even though we barely have received any spam recently, I hope this will keep our board a lot cleaner.
On this note, I would like to also wish you all a Merry Christmas!

The spam system has already banned someone automatically on registration - http://www.webdevelo...88-hiessescerb/

Good to hear! The new system in place at TF is blocking upwards of 60 spammers automatically every day.

That's good to hear as well! Is that the Vbulletin plug-in from "StopForumSpam.com" that I mentioned to Village Genius the night of the upgrade? Or is this another one? I currently run that Stop Forum Spam vBulletin plug-in on Businessmeet.com, it does seem to be working quite well!

Okay, glad to hear it's working good for TF!
On Businessmeet.com, Ankur has registrations setup to go through moderation first. When I see folks listed in moderation, I'll search the Stop Forum Spam site first for the IP addresses.
If some show up there, then of course they won't be members, but, removed / banned. Then, ones that are currently in the system as "joined members / registered members". I search users BY that IP address.
Then mass delete them all. Same goes for whatever other spammer IP addresses might be there. It might take a while to do it, but there could be a crap-load of various members using the same single IP address (all of course are spammers obviously). I know you guys don't have the time to do all that though. It's better to catch this stuff from when first starting a board, then after years of being established.
