I'm looking for a decent but also well priced drawing tablet. Have heard some good things about the Bamboo. What would you recommend me?

I'll be using it for Illustrator, Photoshop and Corel Painter.

Bamboo is decent for a beginner and for the price. $100 bucks? Can't knock it. But you won't be able to do any high level stuff that requires pixel perfection.

Personally, I swear by the Intuos line by Wacom. It don't get much better then that. If you're serious about it, you should consider picking up the 9x12 model (any version of the Intuos is good enough).

But remember, tablets are generally used by illustrators. You will use the tablet the same exactly way you use the mouse - IE dragging anchor points, combining it with hot keys, etc. You don't just use the tablet to do random drawings and such. It's a misconception that using a tablet = better designer.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Wacom tablets. Even the designer from PixelPerfect really recommends any of their range.

I think Bryan makes a very valuable point about the misconceptions about tablets, which should certainly be taken into account.

Ended up buying a Wacom Bamboo One the other day. Loving it so far, will upgrade to a bigger and better tablet when needed! Seriously cool things.
