It looks really nice. I'll include a few comments below:
Other than what I mentioned above I think the design looks great.
Best of luck with your project,
Sam Asante
- There should be a header section with a nice logo in it, so people know which website they are actually browsing.
- The navbar is way too big - Although it's stylish and readable it takes up way too much space.
- The typography could do with a bit of work. Add some more letter and line spacing and maybe increase some of the font sizes a bit.
Other than what I mentioned above I think the design looks great.
Best of luck with your project,
Sam Asante

Looks great Jamie, I'm loving the colours and everything. Yes I would make the nav thinner, and the text on the headers could do with a bit of tinkering with. Other than that, looks great! Show us the final project when you're finished!
Thank you for the comments Gareth apreciate it. I'll keep you updated

Hey Jamie,
Because you (and this design) have potential, I'm going to break it down pretty hard.
Overall, you have a decent color scheme going on. I dislike that the background is the same color as the main content areas (the forum sections). I would try making the background a lighter blue hue so that the important sections stand out.
At this point in your design, you should start considering a strict grid and adhering to it. And I mean by the pixel. Try to have the same pixel distance between each module and section. Right now, the left navigation seems about 15 pixels off. Match it to everything else.
Also take into account heirarchy. Your 3 navigations seem jumbled and don't really have any sort of significance. Why does the login and register button share the same level as the other navigational items? Then, why do you have the main navigation on top of everything else, but doesn't seem to hold any important links?
To me this looks like a forum skin, but looking over the content, it looks like a store front. What?
Overall, the style is a bit old. The glossy, glowing stuff looks amateur and you should consider exploring something more mature and flat. Take this forum design as an example.
It also looks as if you aren't using layer styles throughout all your shapes (especially the forum headers). For instance, your forum header's white stroke to accomplish the gloss looks bad. If you look at the corners, you'll see that they are blurred and not sharp. It seems as though you selected the layer, contracted by 1, filled it, contracted by 1 again, and then deleted the inner section leaving you with an inaccurate selection.
Attached is an example (albeit super quick and fast) that I did using strictly layer styles. Remember, not only does this cut down on layers, but it also helps for you to edit layers on the fly and quickly applying the style to similar/same modules.

Fantastic information there Brian thank you, apreciate the time you have taken to write it. I'll definately take in your information and hopefully produce better results in the future and on this design
Thanks again,
Jamie
