I have the iPhone. Love it to bits! Just a shame the camera isn't fab but it's full of technology. And love some applications you can get. Especially Shazam! What apps do iPhone users here use?

Hey, i was actually interested in purchasing the iphone, but wondered can you receive emails instantly from the phone? Meaning, if i received an email containing a support request could i set an option for it to automatically message me when i received new email? This would be great for Hannost, so then i could offer true 24/7 support, even if it means me waking up 20 times in the middle of the night!

Would be great if someone could answer this question and any other recommendations for applications would be great!

Thank you,
Jamie

It makes a sound when one or more new emails are received. It checks every few minutes.

This is my current iPhone theme:

The most used apps on my phone are Tweetie, Twinkle, Brightkite and Pandora.

There's nothing wrong with jailbreaking it; In fact, it's a 5 minute process that's easy to do literally with your eyes closed.

MyFox has a few more advanced features than Safari (full screen, turning off rotation, and some others) but it's nothing perfect since you don't yet have tabs, bookmark syncing, and others that Safari comes as default.

I usually just use it for a couple of websites that Safari seems to have a hard time loading.

I've gone through 2 iPhones.

My first, I left it in a taxi on a drunken adventure. Then, I went on for a week with a retarded pay-to-go phone as a replacement. I couldn't stand it. Subway rides were boring. I looked like an idiot pulling out a simple Nokia phone at meetings, and I just needed all the functionality that I used to have.

So I sucked it up and paid full price for a new one.

Damn those things are expensive!

For me? I didn't get insurance, just the Apple Care ... I don't think they offer insurance on the iPhone here.

I love my iPhone smile.gif

You cant beat all those cool apps and games. The only way you can get insurance on an iPhone is through an insurance company like State Farm.

Not so. In Britain, you can pay an extra £7.50 a month and get a new one for free if it's lost or stolen.

Yeah, this is what I did with my iPhone, since I already have all of my insurance through State Farm. I've got the Apple Care plan as well though.

Love my iPhone. We have insurance here but i am on contract so dont need it. Basically even if i stomped the hell out of mine i could get a new one within 48 hours for nothing.

Game i am playing at the moment is the fantastic Candy Wars by Catamount.

What are your predictions for the 3G iPhone.
(Note: to confuse us all, Apple called its second-generation iPhone "3G." Hence, to avoid [or possibly cause] confusion, the third-generation is herein referred to as the "3G iPhone")

I reckon it'll be styled like the Aluminium Macbook, with an enlarged Apple logo on the back hiding an improved camera with optical zoom and video capabilities, a-la Macintoshes. The UI will probably look a bit more like Mac OS X's, if it follows the same development line as that of the iPod. E.g., the Dock will be 3D and reflective. There may even be backgrounds, since Apple are fighting to keep up with the features of jailbroken iPhones.

Thoughts?

I'm not really sure about the design but I agree with you on everything else.

I guess we will see this summer biggrin.gif
